FOCUS
Do I focus on the end, rather than how Im getting there?
Of the old saying, All roads lead to Rome, beware!
For it is the means not the end that makes me who I am,
Am I willing to sacrifice goodness to fulfill my plan?
The end goal may be good, but if going along the way
I do not care whom I hurt or trample on or what I say,
Ive failed to reach the target, though Ive made my goal,
Because you see I put down instead of lifting a soul.
Although the end is important its not the only thing,
It is really how I obtain it and the attitude I bring
That makes life worth living, make me feel and grow,
It is how I get there that determines the end result I show.
So I will always strive to focus on the path I daily tread,
Focus on the good things that need to be done and said,
Never justify an evil deed or cruel action in any way,
Ill remember who I am, so try to live well every day.
