More poems just about true

WHAT IF
What if we were to be awake at night,
Then sleep through day’s warm light?
Everything to me would be all wrong,
As I went to rest to the sweet birds song.

This morning chorus would then become
An evening hymn as all the work was done,
Would we get to know all the stars by name
And learn of the night hunter and it’s game?

Those heat and hydro bills how high they’d be,
Yet could there be any at all advantages for me?
When all the dark hours of work were over and done,
Then think of long hours after playing in the sun,

Yet everything is always geared for daytime living,
And I have done long shifts on nights when nursing,
I found it very hard to sleep through a lovely day,
So after second thoughts I’ll let it stay the right way.
