More poems about time

        TODAY IS A GIFT
Today is a gift to cherish and use,
A gift that no one can ever refuse,
For it comes free without asking,
How we use the gift is another thing.

Yesterday is history a day now gone by,
Did I waste the gift just mope and sigh,
Run someone down, or speak some ill,
Or with goodness and love the day fill.

As we go through this freely given day,
Let us make use of it in a goodly way,
Work hard, achieve some goal you set,
Try not to do anything you will ever regret.

Today is the present, what an apt name,
For a gift given to everyone the same,
All have the same amount of time each day,
The present to use wisely or throw away.

History is past, just gain wisdom from it,
The gift of the present use it well every whit,
And prepare for tomorrow by living today
The very best we can, choose good all the way.
