OBTAIN THE SPIRIT
lesson 3 from the life of John Taylor.
When we obtain the spirit of God in our heart,
We’ll always be willing to do more than our part,
For all men feel kindness, charity, longsuffering,
And look out for their welfare with understanding.
Even our enemies we should treat as our friend,
We are all God’s little children on Him depend,
We will want to work righteousness all our days
As the spirit increases our more Godlike ways.
If we let the spirit guide, we’ll promote happiness,
We will want our families and all people to bless,
Leave no one out in the cold not shunning them away,
But putting our arms around them, obey what He did say.
Everyone is my neighbour, everyone should be my friend,
This message by words and actions I will try and send,
Please Holy Spirit enter quickly into this my weak heart,
All Thy love and understanding on me forever impart.
