More poems about testimony

        WASN’T QUITE RIGHT
I knew I had a vision, but it wasn’t quite right,
The personage there, had the wrong type of light,
But I thought I ought to listen to what he had to say,
To see if it would gude me along heaven’s way.

The voice was rich and soothing, yet I was not at peace,
And the anxiety that was within me began to increase,
He told me very kindly that I was going the wrong way,
That the things I believed were leading me far astray.

No real heaven, he told me, Jesus was just a good man
And that he had an easier, much better and simpler plan,
I should always put myself first throughout my life,
That way I would be free from all worry and strife.

But when the Holy Ghost testifies the truth in your heart
It will take more than a false vision from truth to depart,
I told him to depart and to leave me alone for I knew
That the gospel I was following was all holy and true.

Then the false vision faded and he left but I was not alone,
I was filled with joy, the comforter came from God’s throne,
I have a testimony and I pray it will last my whole life through,
That I will endure well to the end and I will be forever true.
