More poems about the Holy Ghost

DID I HEAR A VOICE
Did I hear a voice call to my beating heart,
Whispering softly to go and do my part?
Did someone need me and I was not there,
Should I have been the answer to a humble prayer?

Are there too many earthly noises in my life,
Too concerned about all my own trouble and strife
To listen and obey that ever still small voice,
Which I know leads me to make the wiser choice?

Do I always hear the promptings of the Holy Ghost,
Rely on His wisdom, or of my own knowledge boast?
Am I willing to listen and then quietly obey,
Or do I put it off to a more convenient day?

I am too proud and stubborn to clearly hear,
Ask too many questions, show too much fear,
Or is my heart open waiting to always serve
For I know I will reap the things what I deserve.

Help me listen to hear the still small voice,
Help me Dearest Father to always make the wisest choice,
Not only listen but act and then show I truly care,
Help me Father seek thy will, hear my humble prayer.
