        LEARNING HUMILITY
Sometimes we like to do our own thing,
Sometimes it does not matter if no ill we bring,
So why change Lord? I say on bended knee,
The answer is whispered, “To gain humility.”

I know my heart is proud when I am right,
Justified by truth my soul wants to fight
To do the things my way so be flowing free,
Why should I change?, “To learn of humility.”

I need to be taught true humility by listening,
So subdue my heart to God’s gentle instructing,
If I can be willingly obedient in the simple things,
Then one day I may have the peace humility brings.
