        EASTER SHOULD BE SUNNY
Easter should be sunny, the sun shining clear and bright,
Letting the world know we came from darkness to light,
For Jesus broke the bonds of death and hell that special day,
Having suffered grief and pain then died to take fear away.

In a ray of sunshine let us picture the Lord standing there,
Like He did many years ago, then humbly kneel in prayer,
Offer gratitude for the sacrifice and resurrection for all,
True thankfulness to the Saviour who saved us from the fall.

Yes, Easter should be sunny, so we feel the sun’s warm rays
In grand celebration of that great and wondrous days of days
When Jesus our Redeemer, our Master, our God and king
Arose from the dead after sinking far below everything.

But even if rain clouds or cold snow darken this special day,
Let us still go forth rejoicing never let it be spoilt in any way,
But at this time whatever the weather on Easter day may be,
Shout aloud for joy, for we can be of death and sin be free.
