WALKING IN MOONLIGHT
Last night the air was still, no noise in the naked trees,
Even the lake was silenced for lack of a gentle breeze,
No clouds at all danced or raced across the velvet sky,
Just the stars and the full moon were alone up high.
I walked on with quiet stealth and as I gazed above,
I was filled to overflowing with Gods great love,
The earth was covered with a gentle silver sheen,
As the moon glided in grace to light a special scene.
The trees awaiting leaves at the start of spring
Stood in simple beauty, wishing they could sing,
Some thanked their maker for that special night
As the full moon as stars gave us a special light.
No wind or breeze ruffled the lake of inky blue,
I stood and saw a perfect reflection come to view,
Each star seemed brighter, the moon seemed reborn
In the mighty lake, each reflected in perfect form.
I walked last night under the stars and moonlight,
No wind came, so made silence part of the delight,
No noise of traffic travelled to where I stood and saw
The stars and moon reflected, and was filled with awe.
