A GOOD DAY TO GO HOME

A mid October day, shone warm and bright,
The morning mist faded leaving a lovely sight
Of fall flowers, and a magnificent show of trees,
Even the air was warm, sent gently on the breeze.

A good day for a funeral, for my friend loved beauty,
She loved the sun upon her face, fall she loved to see,
She loved to sing God’s praises, thank Him for His love,
So I am glad the sun shone as she to went home above.

I’m glad flowers bloomed and some birds did sing,
For she would not want us to be sad, but bring
Back happy memories, times of laughter and love,
For she will be singing as she waits for us above.

Think how blue the sky was, how gentle the breeze,
How lovely the trees looked, flowers that please,
She would not want it any other way to say farewell,
Going home when the earth in it’s beauty looked so well.
