OH, FOR THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL

My heart is full of joy for all the gifts that are mine,
I want my praises to reach to God’s throne divine,
My voice is not powerful enough for Him to hear,
That’s why I want to have heaven’s angels near.

To sing in harmonious sweetness with the angels up above
To tell Him in voice of rapture of my never ending love,
Maybe one day I’ll be able to sing one sweet melody
That expresses how my heart feels for the love given to me.

I wonder if the melody that sings sweetly in my heart
Will reach without an angel voice as I sing my part?
Will my God in heaven know what I want to sing,
If I had the voice of an angel my message to bring.

Yet I will still sing with all my might for joy and happiness,
And one day I’ll sing like an angel and others bless,
But the gift God has given me to help spread His love around
Is the song of poetry, may He hear this, my joyful sound.
