PALM SUNDAY
They shouted Hosanna,
spread their coats before His feet,
Jerusalem welcomed their King,
their Saviour in joy did greet.
The very rocks would have shouted
had the crowds silent been,
Yet only a few days later,
there was a different scene.
Now palms and adulation
and loud praises they did sing,
To welcome with open arms
the man they wanted as king.
But did Jesus hear crucify, crucify,
among that loud Hosanna cry?
For he knew then, I am sure
he had come there to suffer and die.
