EASTER IS COMING

Easter is coming, new clothes, and chocolate by the ton,
Moulded in all shapes and sizes, children think it’s fun,
Older ones may have new clothes, all have a long week end,
The first break in a long time, yet what message do they send?
How many know what Easter really means, how many care?
How many stop for a moment as they breath the warmer air,
To think that Easter is a special time, a time to meditate
On things that matters most in life, think of our sad fate
If there were no Easter, no Christ rising from the dead,
No bonds of death broken, by Jesus Christ our head.
Although I like new clothes, and chocolate eggs too,
It is not the important side of Easter, for me or you,
It is the knowledge that we are freed from the grave,
And so from Satan’s grasp, Jesus all did save.
