BLESSINGS
Have you ever stopped and counted
your blessings given every day?
Or do we take things for granted expecting
no less to come our way?
I think you may loose the count, or your
knees tire if you tried,
Then a thought came to me, to tell the Lord
of the joy I cannot hide.
Now I choose one blessing to talk to the Lord
about as I pray,
Thank Him, tell Him my thoughts on that blessing
in my own special way,
Just explain the way that blessing helped me
as telling my friend,
Then my prayer will have such a deep meaning,
on that I can depend.
Next night Ill move to another blessing that
means much to me,
Ill mark them down as I mention them, I wonder
now long it will be
Before I have to repeat the thanks for the same
blessing to the Lord,
As I count all the blessing that flow from Him,
His goodness to me afford.
The blessing could be something simple like
the sweet song of a bird,
That sent me along my way gladly rejoicing as
the sound I heard,
Ill tell Him that it lifted me as natures music
stirred within
A quiet sense of true peace and tranquility
in a world of din.
I could thank Him for the greatest blessing
bestowed upon me,
That of having my loved ones always with me
throughout all eternity,
For this knowledge is one of the blessings
I treasure most,
Along with the atoning sacrifice for me and
the gift of the Holy Ghost.
