OF THE HOLY GHOST


The third member of the Godhead, one we cannot see,
The friend, the comforter, the guiding light for me,
How dark the path, how dangerous the road we tread
If we not by the guidance of the Holy Ghost were fed.

How many times have His promptings set me aright?
How many times has He given me the strength to fight
The good fight, given me the courage to always carry on?
How many times comforted me, when loved ones have gone?

How many wise choices has He placed into my mind,
Helped me through the scriptures a lesson to find,
Helped me remember a story and to say the right thing,
And so help and comfort to some lonely soul bring?

Please help me to be worthy of my friend so strong and true,
Help me to want Him to be with me all my life through,
For His friendship and His power are ours for the asking,
As long as we are striving for a life that is everlasting,
