EASTER MOON
I saw a glimmer of silver touch the clouds so low,
A lovely silver lining just before the moon did show
Her full radiant face to this our busy world far below,
Now above those clouds, that in her beauty did she go,
See how the stars are dimming as she comes their way,
Making this night almost as bright as the dismal day,
Shadows are cast, as now the moonbeams come to stay
With us through this night, did they shine so far away?
Shining two thousand years ago over dark Gethsemane
Or did she hide her face behind a cloud, not wanting to see,
Jesus suffering so much pain so all mankind could be set free,
Did she with all nature weep, knowing that this had to be?
Oh, Easter moon full and bright shine with all your might,
So fill the earth with your calming and soothing light,
Jesus overcame all, he bravely suffered and won the fight.
Shine your best at Easter, sweet moon, make the world bright.
