GIVE ANYONE A CUP OR TWO OF FLOUR
This poem is written after hearing the poem, Forgiveness Flour
Which puts new meaning to something my grandma used to say,
Ill give anyone a cup or two of flour any day of the week.
My Grandma was always generous, in every way she could be,
If anyone was in need, she would give what she had with felicity,
Food and clothing and her money even when she had none to spare,
So I did not think it odd when she flour shed say she would share.
Then dads boss upset the whole grown up family in some way,
That time I did not understand why us poor would give away
Flour to Mr Bates who was a millionaire I was quite sure
Should need to borrow flour if we came to our front door.
But granny stood and I heard her clearly and quite forcefully say
If he comes and asks Ill give him a cup or two of flour today.
Now I realize that my granny was not only kind but forgiving too
A little bent, wise old lady, who her true Master she really knew.
Now like in the poem a cup or two was maybe all the flour she had
Now all these years later, I had found this out I am so very glad,
That she was willing not to measure just out how much to forgive,
But would forgive with all she had, what a wonderful way to live.
