GOD’S GREAT GIFTS
God gives to man gifts by the score,
Talents and attributes and much more,
Gifts of the spirit, that help us to grow,
Yet the greatest gift is love I truly know.

You may have a voice an angel sweet,
Be a perfect host, know how to treat
Folks right, play an instrument well
Until a great auditorium does swell.

You may paint a picture, carve stone,
Tune a piano to perfect pitch and tone,
Write many a story, or a book or two
Be brilliant in everything that you do.

Yet if love is not entwined in each heart
Can those other gifts really do their part?
Let us remember the Master and His love,
So we may strive hard for heaven above.

For the pathway to heaven is an opportunity
To increase in love and develop each quality
That leads us to be honest, kind and ever true,
Increase in wisdom, with love this we can do.

Live with love until it becomes sweet charity
Knowing all men are equal, not just a few
Who are God’s children, but all mankind,
Live a life of Godly love, have peace of mind.

There is no one who we should turn away,
Love both good and bad every single day,
Be honest even if others cheat and steal,
Learn how to really love, how He would feel.

I pray the Lord will bless me with His gifts,
But I will work hard on love, the gift that lifts
Others to a higher happier plain as I strive to be
Worthy of God’s mighty love for all eternity.
