GATHERING GEMS
As I read the scriptures many gems I find,
Sparkling jewels of wisdom of every kind.
Sweet words of comfort, my heart to heal,
Helps me my Saviours love to gently feel.

Jewels of understanding, plucked from a line,
Answers to my prayers, inspiration truly divine,
Words stand out like rubies glittering in the snow,
A message of courage as through this life I go.

The Old and New Testament, full of truth and light,
Helping us gain gems of knowledge so to shine bright
In a world of darkness and mainly dross is what we find,
But we can gather our gems, leave earthly thing behind.

We have the other scriptures to guide us along life’s way,
The Book of Mormon, to increase our gem collection today.
When Jesus comes to gather His jewels, will we be filled,
Shining with wisdom and knowledge just as He willed.

Yet knowledge is not enough, we need to work with a will,
Be a good example, loving and kind and everyday try and fill
Your life with righteousness, be a gem for Jesus glow with love,
Then we will not be found wanting when we are called above.
