FREE GIFTS FROM GOD
Do we ever stop to count each gift given
By God, gifts to guide us back to heaven,
Loving gifts, priceless gifts, gifts to share,
Do we ever thank Him in humble prayer.
Prayer, a gift, too often forgotten, neglected,
If remembered a few trite words extended
To a waiting Father wanting to hear His children,
His gift of communication with Him in heaven.
Why do we fear, when we can have the gift of trust,
To rid ourselves of all worldly fear, trust is a must,
Yet we throw that gift away, never be truly willing
To totally trust in the Lord and in His love resting.
The gift of free agency, we can choose right or wrong,
Choose to be happy, or join in with the evil throng,
A gift given so we may grow stronger every day,
Don’t misuse this gift by all too often going astray.
God’s gift of love that makes the world go round,
In the hearts of the good should be always found,
Yet we have wars because of greed and cruel hate,
God’s gift may creep into a heart a little too late.
Many other gifts given so freely from God above,
He wants us to live with understanding, joy and love,
We have the privilege to choose, a needed gift given,
For God will give gifts but not force us to heaven.
