TESTIMONY ENOUGH
When tears of joy are overflowing,
And the words just cannot come
But your heart is humbly thanking
God above, a victory you have won.

For tears are testimony enough for God,
He hears the words the tears are saying,
Even as through heavy trials we plod,
He hears our weary, sad heart sighing.

Tears of gratitude, or tears of sorrow
Are things God truly does understand
He wipes them away today and tomorrow,
Puts forth His loving outstretched hand.

I felt Him wipe away a sorrowful tear,
But those of sheer joy He has let flow,
He has also wiped away tears of fear,
Felt His strong hands comfort me so.

Testimony tears should quite often wet
The eyes of the Master’s dear friends,
To let Him know how firm we are set
And His holy ways follow and defend.

Weep for joy, weep to be comforted too,
Weep as your heart’s testimony overflows
Weep in appreciation for all He went through
Weep at the mercy to His children He shows.
