        LESSON OF THE TEN LEPERS
We remember the ten lepers that were made whole
And only one showed a truly appreciative soul,
As we are given gifts from our Father above,
Do we show our gratitude for his never ending love?
Or like the nine lepers just shout for joy and forget
Who gave us the gifts, who will have our needs met.
We are told that one of the sins the Lord deplores most
Is a thankless heart and ingratitude often boast,
For every breath we take, every heartbeat is His to give,
It is God’s gifts that gives us breath enabling us to live,
We can’t do a thing on our own so let us gratitude show
To our God in heaven who loves and care for us so.
Then gratitude for suffering, thanks even for pain,
For this helps us through the refiners fire so to gain
A purification, so that worthy one day we may be
To dwell in the celestial kingdom with Deity.
