ACTION
This gospel is a gospel of action and work,
Not one of us will make it if we shirk,
It is a gospel of both being and of doing,
In every walk of life, God’s actions pursuing.
No one should be lazy, do their equal share,
The Lord expects us to do His will out there.
Not just go to church to be spiritually fed,
Not just praying when you wake or go to bed,
Not just being a good neighbour, wearing a smile,
But always willing to go that long extra mile.
We have church callings, attend the temple too,
If we are busy doing God’s will Satan can’t get through.
He finds work for idle hands, another path to follow
Than that of service, which maybe selfish and hollow,
This is not what the dear Lord has in store for any of us,
For this gospel is one of action, so why make a fuss?
We may appear very busy working the whole day through,
But we should stop, see if it is what the Lord wants us to do,
Strive to do what is needed to help every day that we live,
The Lord in His great mercy will His strength to us give.
