FAR SPENT
Is the time far spent, will He soon come to reign ?
Come in all His glory, free us from hurt and pain?
Is the world so steeped in great evil and cruel sin
That Satan thinks his great victory now he will win?
Now is the time to stand for the truth and the right,
Prove by our actions you’ll serve with all your might,
Stand up and be counted, be stalwart strong and true,
So the Lord will know he can always count on you.
When the earth is rent asunder and mountains fall,
Will we be ready, unafraid, know on whom to call?
When the terrible battle rages before victory is won,
Let us all be united as one, away not wanting to run.
Then when the battle is over and sweet peace is everywhere
May we be worthy to stand and in that dear moment share
With our willing arms outstretched in welcome for His reign,
A time when there’s no cruel wickedness and be free from pain.
