HAVE I EVER SAID THANK YOU?
Have I ever said thank you from deep within my heart
For all the blessing that each day you freely impart
To me, your child, who has so many gifts from thee?
If not, I’ll do it now, on humble bended knee.
Where to start dear Lord? I ask as I kneel to pray,
For there always seems too many blessings each day,
For I saw the sunrise fair, I heard the birds sweetly sing,
I saw my family all around, oh what joy that did bring.
I held the scriptures in my hand, read a spiritual thought,
We planted fragrant flowers, the happiness that brought,
I walked hand in hand with my husband, feeling his love,
Saw new leaves on the weeping willow tree, saw a turtle dove.
There was good food in plenty, water pure and clear,
The laughter of little children who were playing near,
A bed to sleep on and a home to shelter us from harm,
And always feeling thy closeness, thy ever loving arm.
I worked in the holy temple and felt the spirit sweet,
Wandered through the sacred hall, friends to greet,
Learned more about returning to thy presence Lord,
And found more meaning in thy holy word.
This list could go on as my many blessing I display,
Yet I do not stay on my knees long at the end of the day.
Help me dear Lord to have to strength to give praise
For these and all other blessings and all thy loving ways.
