I LOVE THE LORD

There is something I want to tell you
That is deep down within my heart.
It is of my great love of my Saviour
And the blessings this love will impart.

I love Him for His sacrifice of self,
His agony shouldered in Gethsemany.
I love Him for His thoughtfulness
And his teaching of love friend and enemy.

I love Him for the faithful path He trod
While He sojourned here on His lovely earth.
I love Him for His messages in parables
And their simple meanings of eternal worth.

I love Him for my own insignificant life
And giving to me the gifts I tresure.
I love Him for caring and doing what is right
For obeying God's will in full measure.

I love Him for giving me a tender heart
For helping me find my way in this life.
I love Him for sending you to my heart
To love and honour and be a good wife.

I love Him for putting forward a plan
That gave us the freedom to choose our path,
I love Him for the promises he made to us
If we follow Him,we have all the Father hath.
