MEMORIES AND GIFTS

How many years had they been together
before he passed away?
Fifty five wonderful happy years almost
to the very day.
Though gone, he was close by her side
with the things around,
With all the gifts to her given with love,
So memories did abound.

A white sweater to wear at the temple
as they served side by side,
A pretty broach shaped like a little cat,
she never wanted to hide.
A tall crystal vase that shone bright
as it caught the sun,
A pair of fuzzy slippers to wear
when work was done.

Many other precious gifts were hers
to bring back memories,
Each one like a kiss of hope and love,
while dreaming of eternities,
Where their gift of love with grow
joy will be complete
When they walk together hand in hand
as in heaven they meet.
