ONE OF THE GREATEST GIFTS
Of all the wondrous gift that to me have been shown,
One of the greatest to me is the man I call my own,
A husband, the father of my children and a friend,
Who is always there for me, on whom I can depend.
We share a rich, precious and deep enveloping love
A love that will last this life and on to heaven above,
We have shared all our many joys and our sorrows too,
Held each other up as our trials weve struggled through.
A man of many talents, a man of all encouraging ways,
A truly nobleman, for all good things he constantly prays,
A man who loves the Saviour, a man whos goals are high,
A man who love nature, could not pass a hurt creature by.
If this is the last poem in this book of combined work,
It has to tell about my Brian, who never seems to shirk,
Gives of his all in all he does, he loves in the same way
And he is mine forever so blessed to me is each day.
If I could find earthly words that could tell of my love,
They would be sweet and powerful, words from above,
Words spoken in clear celestial tones that would flow
From my heart, as we strive heavenward both to go.
