THE POWER OF LOVE
A precious promise made to each other
That we would be no one else’s lover,
But cling to each other in love and harmony,
A love that we strive to be worthy eternally.

Love has power in itself to understand, to heal,
Love has the strength to learn to know and feel
What the other person really needs and hopes for,
This powerful love is ours now and forever more.

Sometimes I don’t get it right, but I’ll always try,
This power of love has it’s goal aimed up high,
Love that entwines each heart with strength divine,
Only grievous sin can separate your heart from mine.

Because the power of love that dwells deep in my heart,
I know of nothing we will do that will want us to part.
But every time hard struggling times come along,
The power of true love will keep us both strong.

I love you, sounds so empty, actions speak much more,
But both should kindly tell you that it is you that I adore,
The man I loved years ago and now love deeper still,
And if you asked me over again I’d gladly say “I will.”
