A SAPPHIRE BRACELET
I have this sapphire bracelet, a gift from a thoughtful man,
A gift for forty-five years together, come see it if you can,
It has fourteen pretty sapphires of the deepest, richest blue,
Surrounded by gold and diamonds, there are quite a few.
It is so beautiful, it sparkles, glitters and shines bright,
But it is dimmed in the glow of our eternal love-light,
Every time I wear it I think of our special, precious love,
Worth more than these sapphires is our love fit for above.
It is delicate, but not fragile, strong its clasp and link,
I stop and wonder as I gaze and sometimes I think,
How love between husband and wife is just the same
It is delicate, yet strength and togetherness is our aim.
And as the years press onward, and love grow richer still,
So the bracelet will increase in value, as memories fill
Our hearts with reoccurring joy of all the years gone by,
Looking at our memorabilia with tears of joy in each eye.
So my sapphire bracelet is a gift I wear with joy and love,
Tells me of a husband who I want to be with in heaven above,
I know this sapphire bracelet will not make it to heaven,
But the love will with which it was received and given.
Then as the children see it they will remember our great love
And will want to be with us forever in a heavenly home above,
For the longer we are married the more that love grows strong
Just like the linked strong sapphires together is where we belong.
