PLEASE LET ME SAY
Please let me say “I love you” for I love you so
Oh, how those words from my heart and soul wish to flow,
Although I may tell you while you lie asleep in bed
It is not the same as when you hear the words said.
Yet I feel the words you think are empty if repeated
And it is enough to show love by deeds completed,
I want to shout it from the house tops hear your reply
Our voices in harmony reaching heaven on high.
I do not think though those three words will suffice
For the feelings in my heart that could melt ice
With the words that would flow never ceasing,
Hoping with each tender word love would be increasing.
So in verse flowing free my words I will write,
I love you my darling and may it always shine bright.
Love that knows no ending, love that will stand the test
A love that I will give and may our God do the rest.
