HOME SWEET HOME

When I was just a tiny child
        First going off the school,
        Home was like a haven
        Protecting me from harm.
There were people there who loved me,
        People who really cared,
        No one thought me silly,
        No one called me fool.
        I felt loved and important
And that God loved even me.
We did not have great riches
Or a house big and grand,
But we had good food on the table
For which we thanked our God.

I hope our home is a haven
        Where all are welcomed in
        With loving open arms.
        I hope I have a loving heart
That shows how much I care.
For I want our home to be
Just a little bit like heaven,
So we can feel right at home
When we make it back to Him.
        I hope everyone feels safe
        And everyone feels loved,
Then it will be home sweet home.
We do not have great riches
Or a house that is big and grand
But we have good food on our table
For which we thank our God.
