THE KEY TO MY HEART.

Shortly after we were married
Many years ago,
Serving in the forces
Abroad he had to go.
We were sad at the parting
We loved each other so.

Then our anniversary come around
Almost a year apart,
Then a wonderful thing happened,
He gave me the key to his heart.
Gold and warm and shining bright,
I knew we’d never part.

All the years I’ve had the key
It is a comfort to me,
I feel it gently touch my heart
It help me aim for eternity.
It keeps my love light burning
And helps me worthy be.

Like the gold that never dims
My love will stay bright,
Never grow dim or lose it’s charm,
Always show light.
I will live in hope, sharing our key,
Keeping love in sight.

Yet if I had no key, to open his heart
I’d love him still,
For after all the wonderful years togther
We know each other’s will
And always think of the other first
So every need fulfill.
