Little boy, little boy come out and play.
Forget your troubles at least for today.
Why is it that there are tears in your eyes?
Why do you sigh those long, lonely sighs?

Is it because you're moving too far?
Is it because your dad's gone to the stars?
Is it because nothing goes your way?
Is it because you have to be a man someday?

Come out of the shadows and into the sun.
Feel the wind kissing your face when you run.
Feel the cool creek water up to your knees.
Let your fine hair be blown up by the breeze.

Forget your troubles, forget your fears.
Wipe away those sad, sad tears.
Come with me out into the sun today.
Come out and play, boy, come out and play.
