Scott N.1,2, Yvert N.1,2, Gibbons N.1,2, here we begin the Lebanese Stamp History. Lebanon being placed under French Mandate, used stamps of France overprinted Grand Liban (Great Lebanon) in French only. Great because Lebanon was before a smaller region consisting of two ranges of mountains.
The currency conversion was the following: 1FF = 5Piastres. Also 100 Centiemes= 1Piastre. For the highest value, we have 5FF = 25Piastres.
From the high Postage Values of the Merson Type, 4 stamps were additionally overprinted "Poste Par Avion", Postage through Plane, for Air Mails.
Another set of 4 overprinted in Arabic also was issued few months later. The french remembered that Lebanon is an Arab country
