My Poetry Page

I started seriously writing poetry in the Summer of 1987 when I was 17. At first my attempts were crude and clumsy, but they served the purpose of cleansing my soul of years of confusion and torment (depressing, isn't it?). I found myself writing poetry about all sorts of things and I continued the habit as I made my way in the world. Much of my work has been lost over the course of many moves and storages, but the stuff that remains is of a more mature quality in my mind. While at college, I took many English courses and I became more familiar with the styles of "the classics." From this I began to branch out into more modern styles. Poets whom I hold in high esteem include:

I have gathered a list of poetry which I find exceptional. You may look them over if you like:

My Favorite Poetry

Now, onto some of my own works, I've preserved some chronological order to them so maybe you'll see some progression/evolution I've made as a poet. You may think they stink on ice, which is your perogative. I happen to like them and so do many of my friends and family. All my work is copyrighted and owned by me, you are welcome to read it, copy it, but not to pass it off as your own (I know it sounds absurd, but one never can tell). I will be adding more stuff as I discover it both through the boxes I stored my work in and through writing new works. You are welcome to contact me with your opinions both good and bad:
