FORGOTTEN
BY TINA LARSON
She sits in the dark;
no one knows.
Poor Sara alone,
forgotten.
She once had beauty
in demand.
No more agents call,
forgotten.
When her looks faded,
her friends fled.
To them Sara's been
forgotten.
With nowhere to turn,
she tried drugs,
and all her pains were
forgotten.
Now she's an addict;
she can't stop.
No one cares she is
forgotten.
Days blur together,
bills aren't paid.
Forced onto the street,
forgotten.
The dark alley is home;
old life's gone.
Sara's hopes and dreams
forgotten.
She cries out for help,
no one hears.
To the world she's been
forgotten.
She sells her body now
for her fix.
The pride she once had,
forgotten.
The shame tears her soul;
her heart breaks.
With the high, all is
forgotten.
Death is beckoning;
time slips by.
He calls out her name,
forgotten.
It's too late for her;
she wasn't saved.
All she could have been,
forgotten.
On a lonely hill,
Sara rests,
and there she shall lie,
forgotten.
No one will come visit
at her grave.
They all hide; their guilt
forgotten.
A lasting peace is found
in heaven.
Never more to be
forgotten.
