Sister tell us
"Every week I select one of the virtue topics for discussion by my pupils. I have them bring clippings or short stories that pertain to the sujbect. I allow them considerable freedom in asking questions, and I make it a point to answer every one of them as simply and as clearly as I can. To do this of course I have to prepare the topic just as well as the children. Every Monday morning I place the topic and its subdivisions on a conspicuous place of the blackboard so that every pupil may be able to see it. Sometimes I add to the subdivisions. I always endeavor to have the children cull examples from the life of Christ, His Blessed Mother, the Saints, or some well-know characters of our own country. One thing I do not tolerate: the use of the name of anyone in the class or in the community as an example of a vice or a virtue. That is dangerous ground."
