The Language Of Flowers
Flowers have long been linked with romance, but it wasn't until the early 17th century that a French writer published a dictionary that formalized the "Language of Flowers"
Hugely popular during the Victorian era, lovers would send coded love letters using these floral dictionaries. The type of flower, its color, and even the positioning and presentation of the flower had a special meaning. It's all in the presentation! If a flower was presented bud first, the meaning below would hold true, however if the flower was presented stem first, the meaning conveyed would be the opposite.
