Time spins and time stand still,
Thoughts flash and frolic till
Soul collapses, exhausted, thrilled,
Joy and lust and love -- all filled.
Face and touch pour through my mind,
Perfect skin I touch and find
Loving soul, unblemished, kind,
I hold and feel and kiss -- all mine.
Deep brown eyes and wisping hair,
They call out to me -- but do I dare?
For souls like this are more than rare;
They can't be won by gifts or prayer.
I don't know why our paths did cross;
Why gods of Fate decided to toss
Our souls together -- it makes me pause
To wonder why I risk pain of loss.
Our time together draws quickly short;
I can't love and leave -- I'm not that sort
Of guy, but as I see I must leave this port
I know I love, and forever's too short.
