As I mentioned on another page of the site, I'm a graduate student in sociology at Western Michigan University. At the moment, I'm nearly done with my masters program. I have only the thesis to finish. After that I've got a lot of plans. ![]() While I'd like to go on and get a doctorate, I'm also strongly interested in computers. I currently work at The Grand Rapids Area Center for Ecumenism (GRACE) as the "Information Systems Assistant." This means that I do technical support, database development, web page design, adminster the LAN, and, edit and layout the organizational newsletter. I'm pretty sure the work is preparing me for something but I'm not sure what precisely. Aside from the obvious uncertainties and fears related to nearing the end of school, I enjoy life. I have many hobbies and interests--programming in Java and Perl, web page design, FreeBSD, playing bass guitar, photography, rollerblading, jogging, cross country skiing, Jazz, science fiction and fantasy, role playing games and writing. ![]() Even beyond the things I do, I have wonderful people in my life. My wife, Kristen, works as a case manager in the local Salvation Army's Homeless Assistance Program. Between our wedding and the present (and with only a little help from me), she has managed to acquire five cats. We also have a ferret. You'll find links to friends, family and other people who matter to me on this site as well. Or at least to those "people who matter" who have web pages. |
