It's dark on the back side of the moon
where jack jaws strike with
severed life strung on barbed wire
for all to see, rot in the coming sun

Rain storms, blood tantrums
from on high, looking down not
in forgiveness, but in disbelief
taunting, wishing, praying it all away

The beat of leathered wings
sing from dead limbs while
howls, bellowing shrieks of
live torn throats, echo forever within

Curled in fetal thumb sucking
to escape drop deep and deeper, close
