Dialogues with Chaos (expexegesis ex enigma)

Though I probably should have used math notation to 
express my recent ideas, I feel my semantics, however 
imprecise, is nevertheless more generally accessible. I 
feel I must stress that I have no intent to plagiarize. 
The concept may not be original, but obvious though it may 
seem, it's new to me - and I don't recall seeing the same 
expression in these terms anywhere in the literature 
before. At any rate, the concept is a very useful one to 
me, and I submit it in hopes it may prove to be so to 
others.

As first expressed in "Recursions on a Theme", the 
statement read as follows: "The observer is  the "hole" in 
the system." This implies a sort of epiphenomenal vortex - 
which feels right, from an intuitive overview.

Many things I have read have approached this formulation. 
Godel demonstrates that ultimately there is a "hole" in 
any system. Any system cannot be absolutely coherent 
without extrinsic constraints, which of course negates 
total intrinsic self-consistency. And so it goes. But the 
"hole" is always built-in, like the fovea in our retinas. 
So that meta-system "system" set, "hole" set , etc. can be 
seen as an involute evolute co-variability. Relationships 
are defined in terms of nested recursions. These 
meta-levels and their permutations provide the spectrum of 
accessible phenomena in Universe. Seems it's always the 
patterns generated by relationships that ultimately define 
any discrete entity. This is due to the requisite 
functional terms of definition.

We define the "man" as distinct from any cell, tissue, 
organ, etc., in terms of the aggregate functions labeled 
as human, male, adult, etc. So it's really always a 
Metasystem concept. Taken to the logical conclusion, the 
concept of definition per se becomes a very Zenlike, 
MU-type phenomenon. And the inevitable "pop-up" through 
the "hole" in any system is rather reminiscent of what 
happens when a person "gets" a Zen koan. We need a 
vocabulary of accessible terms for the holistic 
definitions such phenomena compel us to make. We also need 
to map a DNA-congruent system onto the comprehensive 
co-variability - it would provide a very useful 
meta-program for modeling any finite system. We have the 
software, but not the vocabulary. Think about Mu-space and 
Mu time. Since we have a new concept of "information" and 
"message" we were thereby enabled to rethink and redefine 
at an exponential progression. Video vignette: the minicam 
tapes the image of a man filming an artist at work 
painting a picture of a man with a klein-bottle in his 
hands. And somebody writes it down somewhere in longhand 
on a yellow legal pad (the someone types it on a PC and 
prints it out and then you read it.)

Similarly, Hofstadter generalizes that intrinsic 
constraints do not provide a self-referent formal system 
with provable coherence. So - "randomness is a function of 
parameters". This would seem to necessitate an extrinsic 
point of reference, i.e. "the exogenous exegete" adduced 
in "Recursions on a Theme". This notion appears to 
anticipate the convergence of eastern and western 
cosmologies: to connect and even transcend the "cutting 
edge" of physics and the intuitive insights of Zen.
