I was born in Rio de Janeiro,
in 1943. I've started my first steps in photography in 1972 in New York
City where I've followed the NY Institute of Photography. Once back in
Brazil I held an advertising and fashion studio of photography till 1973
when I went to live in Paris. In France I have worked as photojournalist
for Los Angeles Times, Editora Abril, Jornal
do Brasil, many Italians and French magazines,
mainly covering the ready to wear' shows. Once again I came back to Brazil
and opened a new studio for advertising and fashion photography. In 1986
I've migrated definitively to the journalism area, working for Veja magazine.
I spent a time in Jornal
do Brasil during 1988 and 1989 and where
since 1990 I'm the deputy editor of photography. I have been closed to
activities linked to informatic, in a non-professional level, and with
the fantastic help of my wife, a mathematics that has deeply felt in love
with computers. The present home page is a four hand "opera" and has two
parts: the first one was inspired on a scholar task of our daughter and
the second (the cybercartoons) is a reflection about the mutation of art.
In my
opinion art is never closed and always changeable.
