Hi, my name is Ruth and I'd like to tell you about the most important thing that ever happened to me and has changed my life. I grew up a religious girl. But my religion left me very empty. I had no personal relationship with God. My family was very content with a good job and nice home in Queens, New York. But change came. We moved to Puerto Rico and slowly during a period of two years our lives were in the depths of despair. I look back and know that we needed to be brought to this point or we would never have turned in the direction that we did. We moved again, this time to sunny Miami, Florida. It was at this time that my mother and I started attended different churches and all churches. One week, it would be the seven-day adventist, the next the pentecostal church, the next the church of Mormon. We were searching for something to heal our lives and hearts. But we didn't find it in a church building. One day, my brother was walking down the road and spotted someone carrying a guitar. My brother, being a musician, and longing to meet others, approached the young man and introduced himself. This young man, Alan was his name took my brother to a youth group meeting. That night, my brother, Peter, heard for the first time that Jesus died for his sins and that salvation is a free gift offered to us by God. He came home changed. The next week, I attended the same meeting and that night I put my trust in Jesus for my salvation instead of trusting in my own good works. My mother came to know the truth as well and later on my father and two other brothers all put their trust in Jesus, too. The change in our lives as been tremendous. My brother, Peter, gave his life to God and he is now a missionary with the Friends of Israel Ministry. His goal is to educate Christians on how to win Jewish people to Jesus. My husband and I are missionaries on the small island of Grenada (in the West Indies). Our goal is to share with people, who are searching for the truth, the good news that Jesus saves.
