I must share with you what the Lord has done for us one holiday
season.
We headed for a trip to New Mexico in our white Nova. Now, it sure
looked rough, and was very over loaded, but the Lord went with us each inch of
the way and we arrived in safety! Along the way, we stopped to see a
cyber friend in Nashville, and what a blessing that was! We also stopped
at Ft Campbell to cash a check for extra gas money. After leaving the
Army base, we were pulled over by a stranger who told my husband that the Lord
led him to give us something ***Which just happened to be a ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL***
Isn't God Great! We got to NM, and were to meet another cyber friend -
but with a now sputtering car, that was impossible. BUT, this dear friend had enough *energy* and came all the way across AZ and right to our town in NM to see us; we were honoured
and BLESSED! (God, being great!) We needed a new vehicle to get back
home in, and we were able to get an affordable truck the Lord wanted us to have - not the gorgeous
one down the road that was well above our financial means! (God being FIRM)
We got a loan for the full amount plus extra to afford a dolly to tow the Nova
back home (God being great once AGAIN!) I took an old broken computer to my
sister in Colorado Springs, and got it fixed - so now she has something to
play with till she gets a newer model, Praise the LORD! On the way home,
we completely lost our steering as we came over the spaghetti loops in
Kansas City! I had no time for repentance! The LORD protected us completely,
saving us with a slight upgrade and an 8 inch curb to keep the truck from
slamming into a huge concrete wall! Ken was able to find and fix the problem
in minutes, but the "starter" went out too. We got towed to a parts store (driver gave us a
reduced price, PTL). The store was closed for NewYearsDay, so we
dropped off the truck, and unhitched the car which was to take us to a hotel
for the night. At the parts store, a gentleman filled up our tank with
gas - FREE! Our broken down car started with no problem, and didn't quit on us till we
loaded it back on the dolly when the truck was fixed! We arrived home
safely, two days later. We even got to return the Lord's blessings by helping out a few ladies on the road side who had a flat tire - who,
we later learned, were Christians in need as we once were!
I said all that to say this: We PRAYED each time we hopped in
our vehicle. We PRAISED the Lord for each time He took care of us! We
love Him, and He showed us, through His protection, that He loves us even
MORE! This year we have learned to LOVE and OBEY the LORD,
because it is commanded, and because the Lord rewards us so greatly when
we do !
