It's The Law
This is an outline for a speech I have given. You may use the outline as is, but I
believe it will prove more useful as an idea generator.
If you like this work, please let me know -- like
all creative souls, I really appreciate knowing someone was able to use my effort. You can
also e-mail me an idea or two of your own. I'll add it to my page and give you proper
credit.

It's The Law
- Introduction.
- We live by many laws.
- Natural: Law of Gravity, Law of the Jungle.
- Synthetic: Speed Limits, Supply and Demand.
- The most important of these are the Laws of Life.
- Babies are born with no user's manual, so the Laws of Life must be discovered by
parents. Unfortunately, they are often discovered too late!
- There are many Laws of Life, but I will cover only a few here.
- Love.
- "A person can live about 7 weeks without food, about 7 days without water, about 7
minutes without air, and about 7 seconds without love."
- In the late 1950s, researchers conducted an experiment in an orphanage where some babies
were picked up and cuddled frequently, and others were only given essential treatment
(fed, diaper change, etc.). The babies who were held grew up normally; the ones who were
not lost weight, cried frequently, and became ill more often. The difference was love
shown by the nurses.
- Expectations.
- You get what you expect.
- Researchers have found in repeated experiments that school teachers who expect their
students to succeed will have a successful class; or if they expect the students to fail,
will have a class of failures. The expectation makes the difference.
- Association.
- You are the composite of your five closest friends.
- If you would improve your life, then begin to associate with people who display the
qualities and traits you desire.
- Conclusion. -- It's important to understand the laws that govern our lives and use them
to our benefit.
