Howdy! How art thou? Things in Georgia are holding together, though there've been many struggles (toils and snares). My Unity Fest performance at Creative Earth here in GA was fairly disappointing, since my pianist had to cancell due to his full-time band scheduling a HUGE show at a festival being put on by Otis Redding Jr. The next OFFICIAL show scheduled is in March at the Georgia Theatre, and will be HUGE, but before then there will be others, just on a much smaller scale. Well -- since I think I mentioned the wrong date last time, please be praying for Andy and I, since we'll be entering the studio on the 12th of December to begin laying rhythm tracks for the next Set on Edge c.d. We're recording at Full Moon Studios (where R.E.M.,Drivin and Cryin, Five Eight, Vic Chesnut, Sugar, Vigilantes of Love, Luxury, Prozak, and Randall Bramlett have all recorded projects) in Watkinsville, GA, with Mike Lewis (who's worked with R.E.M., Sugar, and Jan Krist) as Engineer; of course, recording at such a professional, high-class place, finances are quite an issue, so pray that God continues to provide as He has so abundantly since I've been in Georgia. Anyway -- we are VERY excited. It looks like "Earnestly I" will have at least 14 tracks! Well, it looks like I'll be going to see the Galactic Cowboys and Kings X tomarrow night, Monk on Saturday, and Men at Work on the 24th of this month -- all good shows that I'm fairly excited to see. Those of you in Ohio have WONDERFUL opportunities to see good music this week; Wednesday, Nov 11th, the Vigilantes of Love are playing w/ Monk (w/ Ric Hordenski formerly of Over the Rhine) @ Bernie's Distillery in Columbus Ohio (call 614-279-2016 for more info) and on Friday, Nov.13th, they are both playing in Cincinnati at the York Street Cafe (call 606-261-9675 for more info). Both of these bands are GREAT, and you'll be catching both right before they into the studio to begin new records. As I may have pointed out, V.o.L. fans should be VERY excited, since they are releasing 3 NEW C.D.'s this next year! They've already recorded an 8 song import accoustic c.d. to be released primarily in Europe, they are beginning a new full-length for Pioneer, and are about to release a live c.d., with a new studio track as well via an indy label in Seattle! Also, for you Ohioians -- I am planning to attend, for the 4th year in a row, Over the Rhine's Christmas show @ the Emory Theatre in Cincinnati -- it's on Dec 19th, and tickets are available through ticketmaster. Beautiful stuff!! Beginning next week, Set on Edge "Sod Pottage" will be available through a Christian Independant Online Music Distributor called Broken Records. They've got a LOT of good material, and you can listen to the tunage before you buy! Check out their wondeful website @ http://www.gospelcom.net/brokenrecords/ They deserve your support. Though I've not the time to describe it here, everyone on this list that believe that individual human life has any importance at all should boycott the Nestle Corp. and all of the divisions there-of. I'll explain this thoroughly in my next email. I'm serious. New book to read; "Evangelicalism and the Future of Christianity" by Alister McGrath. I pray all is well with you! I love you all, |
