Thus we begin again...
So I'm going to give this whole thing a whirl again. Let's see how it goes.
So that awesome job I was so excited about... that charter school... I got the job. Can you believe? Unfortunately, I have since left the job. Funny how our dreams can so quickly turn into nightmares, even when we're wide awake. Let me just say this, if your career allows you to become part of a union, consider it. I mean, REALLY consider it. As a teacher, I will never work in a non-union school ever again. I've heard all the arguments for and against, and I never really cared either way, but boy, did I miss my union rep, each and every day, at the charter school.
Enough of that.
Nothing quite like being unemployed to get you thinking about what you want to do with your life. I mean, were I actually teaching I don't think I'd be questioning where I want to go in life. I loved my job, for the most part. But now that I'm outside that world, I'm forced to think about other options and where I really want to go. The fact of the matter is, I need to take a few classes to renew my teaching license at the end of June. Of course, that would not be a big deal if I had a teaching job. We'd have the extra money for a few classes. However, with my current state of unemployment, I may have to result to the ridiculous and ask for an education for Christmas. One of the classes I need can be taken via correspondence. Sadly, the course itself sounds dreadfully boring and requires a great deal of reading, followed by several 5-6 page book reports, and concludes with a proctored test.
Wow, is this entry a whine fest.
Okay, lemme brighten the moment a little with a confession. Please don't hold it against me... I actually *like* Martha Stewart's line of housewares from K-mart (or should I say "Big K"). I really dislike her. She's evil. But, what can I say... her designers are awesome.
Yes, that one did come out of nowhere, didn't it?
More whine tomorrow. Bring some cheese. We may need it.
