What is Danu? Danu (Dana) was the mythological goddess of the Tuatha De Danaan people in Ireland. She was worshipped as a symbol of light and the arts and sciences. The Danaans are considered one of three original tribes inhabiting early Ireland. After battling against the Fir Bolgs and Sons of Mile tribes for land ownership, they mysteriously disappeared.
In today's Irish mythology, the Danaans have become the fairies and leprechans of Irish folklore.
